I am a Zimbabwean born Visual Artist working mainly in Installation. My work explores themes of vulnerability, abandonment and displacement through the life cycle and transformation of materials. Simple materials, such as rusty everyday tin cans and newspapers, are central to my work and easy to identify with. They are ephemeral materials - here today and gone tomorrow. Narratives are then layered onto these materials, referencing current socio- political affairs around the world. Some of these narratives are drawn from my own experiences of living in different countries, others take reference from media reportage. In Search of the Promised Land, asks the question: What and where is home? What price are we are willing to pay to find it?
